Exeter offers a plentiful selection of cultural sites to visit, including the aforementioned Cathedral, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, the Underground Passages, and the Exeter Guildhall.  Another way to gain a fabulous insight into the rich stories that the city has to tell is to go on one of the Red Coat Tours, free walking tours focussing on various different themes and periods of Exeter’s history.

Walking opportunities abound in and around Exeter, down by the river and through some of the beautiful parks on the edge of the city, and bicycles and kayaks are available for hire for those that wish to enjoy an alternative mode of transport.

There is plenty of live performance available in Exeter through the year, particularly at the likes of the Northcott Theatre, the Phoenix Exeter Arts Centre and the Cavern Club, and a variety of different festivals and other events, including the Christmas market that takes place on Cathedral Green during November and December.
