The obvious places to start are the sweeping arcs of the Royal Crescent and the Circus, and the imposing façade of Pulteney Bridge. Designed as bold statements of Georgian ambition, wealth and pomp, they are a true feast for the eyes and undoubtedly one of the highlights of the city.

Just across from the ancient edifices of Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths is the Thermae Bath Spa. Housed in a wonderfully contrasting modern glass box, a rooftop dip in the balmy waters will give you spectacular views of the city’s skyline which are only enhanced by the steam rising from the pool.

And then there are the green spaces. Beautifully manicured parks and gardens such as Royal Victoria Park, Sydney Gardens and Prior Park offer a little quietude away from the crowds and are perfect for wandering, lazing or picnicking.
